Audi 80 (1989): how to remove door lining?
Question:
Hi all, The connection between the door lock and the handle of my 1989 Audi 80 broke off on the driver side. My dealer supplied the spare part, but had no time to fix it there and then… Does anyone have a link where I can find a description of how to remove the door lining of my car? Thanks in advance, Bernhard

I believe lining is similar to that on my coupe. Armrest/handle is held by three 4mm ? allen screws accessed from below. They are at weird angles but careful fishing with the allen key should locate them. Remove armrests and unscrew brackets that allen keys locate in. Pull open the door release and there should be a screw underneath. Unscrew this. The cable will need to be released unless this is the cause of your problem anyway. Unscrew chromed screw on outer edge of trim. Lining should now lift straight up and off. Don’t lose the little bits of rubber that the lining locates on or the panel will rattle when refitted. — Jeff Thorpe 1990 20v coupe quattro Glasgow
