Question:

I’m kinda new to the Audi world and am looking for a new project car. I have a-lot of experience with VW’s but hardly any with the Audi family. I was considering the purchase of a 1992 audi 80 quattro. I was curios if the 94 cabriolet models were based on the same basic chassis (type 89?) and if body parts, mainly the hood, front & rear bumpers, and fenders were compatible. I gather that the audi 80’s had a later production in europe than they do here in the USA, as far as I can tell none were available here after 1992 when they recieved the integrated grill into the hood. Also, I have some experience in engine swaps and was curios if the Audi S4 227hp 5 cylinder would be a feasible motor for the underpowered 80. Thanks in advance ~Ster

It is the "B4" Audi 80 from then, it was just called Audi 90 in the states. The cab is as much based on the 89, as the B4 is – pretty much. > Also, I have some experience in engine swaps and was curios if the Audi S4 > 227hp 5 cylinder would be a feasible motor for the underpowered 80.
