Question:

Ah… finally the dealer calls me! I have the option of a 180bhp or a 225bhp model. The 180bhp would arrive late summer, the 225bhp would arrive who knows when? They did not want to guess but I would say around Jan 2000??? Does anyone have a better idea of the 225bhp UK delivery? I really wanted the more powerful model. But then so do 5 out of the 6 of us the dealer is now able to submit orders for. So perhaps the 180bhp would be a better bet. I could be sell it in spring 2000 and upgrade to a 225bhp. Any guesses on likely 180bhp premiums? I have seen ads in the Times which ask 37000 for RHD 180bhp imported from Germany. Seems a little steep?! I need to have an idea of likely costs going from 180bhp to 225bhp in Q2′2000. Though thinking about it, the 225bhp supply situation may not be great until end of 2000. Idle speculation welcome! Hello Si, According to Audi UK (who may be economical with the truth) all Coupe’ variants are due this year with Roadsters arriving in November. Now, they didn’t say which roadster variants but I’m desperate for a 225HP model. Really pi**ed off that it isn’t coming this summer as I wanted to take it to Le Mans. Ah well maybe next year. I took delivery on mine on 5/4/99.  The 180 is absolutely more horsepower than I will ever need.  It is awesome!  You don’t need any more. Garth

180 quattro production was due to start last monday (10th), does anyone know if this actually happened? Not that I’m worried, I’m holding out for the 225bhp whenever that may be.
